MCJ update on COVID-19 Infections
Twenty-five employees of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, and four inmates in the jail system it administers have tested positive for COVID-19.
Sheriff’s officials have stated the data on COVID-19 within the department and jail system would be updated daily at 9 a.m.

MCJ LOCKDOWN
We received word late yesterday, that Men’s Central Jail will be on lockdown for an indefinite period.
CHJ staff will be working primarily from home during this time.

UPDATE TO MCJ ACCESS
Governor Gavin Newsom has issued a “Stay at Home” order for the State of California.
As of today, Men’s Central Jail has granted CHJ limited access for EBI.
This status is tentative and will be updated day to day.

COVID-19 STAFF UPDATES
Due to concerns around the COVID-19 coronavirus, CHJ will be making changes involving staff and scheduling.
Check back here regularly for updates, as we’ll be providing more information as we receive it.
Staff should be able to file for temporary unemployment benefits.
